Wesley Matthews who began the NBA season with the Dallas Mavericks was signed Sunday by the Indiana Pacers after being released Thursday by the New York Knicks

"We're excited to welcome Wesley to the Pacers", said the team's president of basketball operations, Kevin Pritchard, when IN officially signed Matthews. NY waived the 32-year-old on Thursday.

Oladipo went down with a season-ending quadriceps injury last month.

"We're excited to welcome Wesley to the Pacers", team president Kevin Pritchard said. "He's a solid professional who we feel strongly will help us the remainder of the season and into the playoffs".

Matthews spent the past three-and-a-half seasons with the Dallas Mavericks before being dealt to the Knicks as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade on January 31.

Terms of the deal were not available.

As Wesley Matthews was weighing his free agency options recently, Russell Westbrook and Paul George tried to recruit the 10-year veteran to the Thunder.

He played two games with the Knicks after being acquired from Dallas.
