Since then, we haven't really seen much in regards to what Mortal Kombat 11 will hold.

Mortal Kombat 11, which could very well feature vocals from the reigning RAW Women's Champion, is scheduled to be released in stores starting April 23 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and XBOX One.

Ed Boon has taken to Twitter to reveal the cover art for Mortal Kombat 11, and it probably won't shock you to see ninja spectre Scorpion taking centre stage.

You can see the cover art above - as per usual, it's focusing on Scorpion. Scorpion was also featured in the Game Awards trailer, where he faced off against Raiden, who killed the Netherrealm assassin only for another Scorpion to appear and kill Raiden. If you're unfamiliar with those, they're kind of like Mortal Kombat titles starring DC heroes and villains, though that's an admitted oversimplification. For the first time ever, Mortal Kombat X gives players the ability to choose from multiple variations of each character impacting both strategy and fighting style.

Before the first gameplay is revealed on Thursday, January 17 at 11 a.m. PST/7 p.m. GMT, Warner Bros. Fans of Injustice 2 can probably expect some aspects of the Gear System to carry over to the Custom Character System.
