On Thursday, Cousins admitted that he's "been ready" to return to the court.

Steve Kerr revealed Monday that he is seeing "dramatic improvement" on the fitness front for Cousins and admitted he is close to making a return. Cousins' presence is especially significant considering that Jones suffered what probably is a season-ending pectoral injury during a loss at the Detroit Pistons on December 1. "I would say the last two scrimmages that he's had".

Standout center DeMarcus Cousins apparently finally has a target date to make his Warriors debut.

"All I can tell you is (his return) is closer now", Kerr told reporters, via ESPN.

DeMarcus Cousins has a date in mind for his return.

However, according to the New York Times' Marc Stein, the big center is targeting a return to action for the Warriors' trip to Los Angeles.

DeMarcus Cousins, the Warriors' fifth All-Star, could join the team before January ends.

Chandler ultimately signed a one-year, veteran's minimum deal with Los Angeles because he "could only see himself in a Laker uniform". He had considered returning January 16 against the visiting Pelicans before he and the Warriors decided on the January 18 return, a source said. There, a healthy Cousins can alleviate pressure on Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant offensively, and give the Warriors a true big, allowing Draymond to roam from the post to perimeter defensively.

The Warriors are now 26-14 on the season and sit second in the NBA's Western Conference.

The Warriors will host the Knicks on Tuesday.
