Report Quarterback Austin Kendall Considers Transferring From OU

Oklahoma quarterback Austin Kendall has entered the transfer portal, according to Eric Bailey of the Tulsa World, leaving open the possibility that he stays with the Sooners.

Of the quarterbacks now on the roster, Kendall figures to be in best position to earn the starting job at the outset of next season, but the Sooners could also elect to bring in a transfer to bridge the gap between Murray and five-star prospect Spencer Rattler. The university may also be looking to recruit another transfer quarterback.

Since 2016, Kendall has only played in eight games for the Sooners.

Reigning Heisman Trophy victor Kyler Murray has not announced that he is not returning to the Sooners but he is expected to either play professional baseball or enter the NFL Draft. In 2018, Kendall played behind Kyler Murray, who took home the Heisman this year.

Kendall joins a plethora of other notable quarterbacks to recently enter into the transfer portal, including Jalen Hurts, Tate Martell and Shane Buechele.
