There is concern within the NFL league office about the possibility of the Chargers playing host to an AFC Championship Game within tiny Dignity Health Sports Park (formerly the StubHub Center), according to league sources, and contingency plans are expected to be discussed again this weekend should the Chargers and Colts advance, which would set up the Chargers as title game hosts.

Andrew Luck and the Colts have gone 10-1 in their last 11 games while the Chiefs lost two of their final three games to end the season before locking up the top overall seed in the AFC and securing home-field advantage. In short, the Chargers have been hosting home games in Dignity Health Sports Park, a stadium that was built for soccer.

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum would serve as host if the AFC title game is moved from Dignity Health Sports Park. And, given the way the playoffs have sorted out to this point, it remains possible that L.A. teams host both championship games.

The Rams host the Cowboys on Saturday at the Coliseum while the Chargers travel to New England on Sunday to kick off against the Patriots.

The NFL has confirmed in the past that if the Giants and Jets, or any other teams that share a home stadium, were to host the conference championship games in the same year, the league would move one conference championship game to Monday night.

Less than a month ago, sources told PFT the league had made a decision to play the game at the intimate venue if the Chargers hosted it. "I would expect there to be conversations about that through the weekend as things happen".
