The story circulated most of the day Friday, with conservative news outlets in particular relishing a major celebrity maligning a generation with the same exhausted narratives about progressive-minded people being too sensitive. The actor, wrestler, and all-around nice guy denied that an apparent interview with a United Kingdom news outlet ever happened after he was quoted as accusing people of being too sensitive.

Adding: "If I ever had an issue with someone, a group, community or a generation - I'd seek them out, create dialogue and do my best to understand them".

"So to the millennials, the interview never happened".

The Daily Star published what they said was an exclusive interview with Johnson on Friday, in which they alleged he said the current generation was "putting us backward". "I was quite baffled when I woke up this morning". 'So, to the millennials, the interview never happened'. "This new fad of super tribalism, of 'if you don't see it my way, you're trying to hurt me, ' it's just bad for the country in general". I always encourage empathy and growth, but most importantly I encourage everybody to be exactly who they want to be.

"If you are not agreeing with them then they are offended - and that is not what so many great men and women fought for", he explained.

In case you missed it, The Daily Mirror claimed Dwayne Johnson said "generation snowflake" being offended by everything is "putting us backwards".

"Rock said his piece and he's moved on from it, and it wasn't up for debate", he said.

He said he may not agree with what someone thinks, who they voted for, but he will support their "right say or believe it", according to the publication.
