Transfer Portal Reveals Tate Martell's Real Name is Absolutely Bizarre

Ohio State quarterback Tate Martell is exploring the idea of transferring after he entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal this week, and there has already been speculation about where he might end up.

And since it's hard to remember a kid who put his name in the portal and didn't transfer, the odds are good that Martell won't be playing football in Columbus in the not-too-distant-future.

Jeremy Birmingham of Lettermen Row reports that Miami and West Virginia could be potential destinations for Martell. He completed 23 passes for 269 yards and one touchdown while rushing for 128 yards with two touchdowns in his backup role.

The decision comes only six days after Georgia quarterback Justin Fields announced his intention to transfer to Ohio State. He enrolled in classes and will reportedly ask the NCAA for eligibility to play in the upcoming season. The quarterback initially committed to both Washington and Texas A&M before reversing his commitment from both programs and joining Ohio State.

Martell spent his freshman year of high school in the San Diego area before he transferred to Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, one of the nation's top recruiting factories.
