The Belgian striker proved a hit at Borussia Dortmund past year but failed to replicate his goalscoring form in La Liga, where he netted only once.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, January 10, Valencia's sporting director Mateu Alemany confirmed the Belgian forward will be returning to west London this January. "For the good of the player and the club, we are looking for a solution". "I've played with him and I know what he could do".

We are expecting an exit in the next few hours or days'.

The Belgian worldwide had a fairly unsuccessful spell with the La Liga side, scoring just three goals from 23 appearances in all competitions. "He is leaving and it's now a matter of negotiation", he stressed.

Michy Batshuayi is set to return to Chelsea - but it doesn't look as though he'll be sticking around at Stamford Bridge.

The Belgium worldwide is set to return from his loan spell at Valencia this month after struggling to make an impact and Everton are keen to bring him in, if they can unload one of either Cenk Tosun or Oumar Niasse in January.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain, who thrived under Sarri at Napoli.

After mainly being used off the bench after arriving at Chelsea from Marseille in 2016, Batshuayi was sent on loan to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season.

Premier League rules do not permit English top-flight clubs to loan more than one player to the same club.
