Liverpool have reportedly been told that it will take a monster bid of £50m if they wish to sign England centre-back James Tarkowski this month, with Burnley seemingly unwilling to sell for anything less than a premium price.

And, according to the Sun, Liverpool are eyeing Burnley defender Tarkowksi on loan.

Liverpool have enjoyed an excellent first half to the season as Jurgen Klopp's side now sit four points clear at the top of the Premier League table and have a bumper Champions League last-16 tie with Bayern Munich to look forward to.

Jurgen Klopp is in need of defensive reinforcements after Dejan Lovren suffered a hamstring injury in Liverpool's 2-1 FA Cup defeat to Wolves on Monday night.

Yes, the likes of Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez will get fit in due time but there is always uncertainty regarding the fitness issues of the above three.

Klopp gave an update on Gomez and Matip's injuries ahead of the game against Wolves: 'Joe is getting better, it's getting better, but he's not yet involved'.

"Joel is maybe a bit closer".

However, after talks between Camacho's representatives and Klopp in the last 24 hours, the Liverpool boss has informed them he does not want to let Camacho go out on loan as he wants him around the first-team for the second half of the season.

With so many central defenders out injured, Klopp had to turn to 16-year-old Ki-Jana Hoever to partner Fabinho in the heart of defence against Wolves.
