Derek Fisher's coaching career did not go particularly well, as the former New York Knicks coach registered a 40-96 record in a year-plus at the helm in Manhattan before getting fired.

Fisher's tenure as a head coach in the National Basketball Association did not go well, posting a 40-96 record in a bit more than a season and a half.

The Los Angeles Sparks are reportedly going to hire Derek Fisher as their next head coach, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Fisher replaces Brian Agler.

Agler was 85-51 with the team and led Los Angeles to a championship in 2016. The Knicks were 17-65 in his first season, the worst record in franchise history. Agler also coached the Seattle Storm to a championship in 2010.

The 44-year-old Little Rock, Arkansas native last coached in 2016 with the Knocks.

Derek Fisher has a new coaching gig, and this time he'll be in a familiar setting.

In his National Basketball Association career, he scored 10,713 points, 2,658 rebounds, and 3,804 assists.

The Los Angeles Sparks are excited to announce the hiring of five-time NBA Champion Derek Fisher as Head Coach.

Fisher played the 2013-14 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This will be Fisher's second coaching job since his retirement from playing in 2014.
