During the event, Markle and guests discussed human trafficking and modern slavery, gender equality and inclusion, peace and reconciliation, and climate change and resilience, according to the ACU's website.

During the event, Kate told the invited wives, partners, grandparents and children: "Not only are we grateful for you coming here to join our party, but also for the sacrifices you make on a daily basis on behalf of the nation".

It would seem Meghan Markle is as taken with Michelle Obama as the rest of us.

The royal mom-to-be wore a dark outfit for the occasion, while styling her dark tresses down. While traveling overseas with Prince Harry on their first official royal tour, the former actress addressed students at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji.

Meghan spoke at the time of her struggle to finance her higher education and her "personal feeling of pride and excitement" when she studied for her degree.

The Duchess has made it her goal to boost education for women in developing countries.

"What I'd say is that there's so much opportunity to do good with a platform like that - and I think Meghan can maximise her impact for others, as well her own happiness, if she's doing something that resonates with her personally", Michelle said.

The Duchess of Sussex has had a busy few days packed with secret engagements, from meeting with former First Lady Michelle Obama to attending a private carol service with her husband and his closest friends, where her baby bump was the talk of the town. "Because when girls are given the right tools to succeed, they can create incredible futures, not only for themselves but also for those around them". Meghan showed her support for the cause by reading a handsome poem as part of the event. The fund was set up in memory of one of Prince William and Prince Harry's friends who died in a vehicle crash back in 2002.
