After losing the way they did in the semifinals of the playoffs to the Boston Celtics, the Sixers did everything in their power to bring on another star player in the offseason to play alongside Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons. With his father making a rare trip to Philly, Embiid showed once again he was wise to ditch digs for dunks. Growing up, Embiid had to convince his father that basketball wasn't a unsafe game and he didn't have to abide by Thomas' wishes of becoming an elite volleyball player.

Embiid was aces against the Knicks.

The swingman is averaging 18.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists while shooting 51.0 percent from the field, 54.5 percent from beyond the arc and 86.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Australian point guard Simmons had 14 points, eight rebounds and seven assists and the sharp-shooting Redick poured in 24 points as the Sixers improved their imposing home record to 11-1.

He didn't stick around to offer his usual quips and one-liners to the media - Embiid split to catch up with his family.

When seeing how Butler has done an incredible job being the kind of teammate the Sixers need him to be, one can only imagine what these next couple of months are going to have in store for Brett Brown's team. They played with goal against the road-weary Knicks. Six games had been decided by 14 or more points, and four of those by 20 or more.

"We're just getting better, we're further along in the season and Jimmy is adapting a lot better". "It certainly increases the dopamine levels in your brain".

Enes Kanter and Mario Hezonja each scored 17 points for NY. The Knicks have played nine of 12 games on the road and were coming off a 115-108 loss to Detroit on Tuesday. "I don't want our team to focus as much on the end result as much as what we did to get it".

JAZZ 101, NETS 91: Donovan Mitchell returned from a two-game absence with 29 points, taking over down the stretch and leading Utah to a win at Brooklyn.

Fultz was the No. 1 overall pick out of Washington in the 2017 NBA Draft. Fultz has not played since his agent shut him down and wanted an examination of the guard's right shoulder. Fultz had said he wasn't hurt and the decision came a day after he appeared to lose his backup point guard spot. "There's been nothing more to talk about", Brown said.

"I do concede that he is going to need it at some point but I definitely don't think it is going to define him", Brown said.
