"Celebrity Deathmatch" is among the most beloved series in a long line of MTV animation classics. "Celebrity Deathmatch" expands Ice Cube's long-standing relationship with the MTV family, with Cube Vision now producing "Hip Hop Squares" for MTV sister brand VH1.

Ice Cube/Cube Vision are represented by WME.

MTV is bringing back irreverent claymation series Celebrity Deathmatch for another round. MTV Studios has stated that, with the new project, they plan to "reimagine [Celebrity Deathmatch] ... for a new generation".

"The President of MTV issued the following statement: "'Deathmatch' was the meme before memes, remains a hot topic on social media and will be a smart, amusing way to tackle the over-the-top rhetoric of today's pop culture where it belongs - in the wrestling ring". Ice Cube joins the franchise for the first time and will both star and executive produce alongside his partner Jeff Kwatinetz through his Cube Vision production company. Will you be tuning in? Ice Cube will serve as executive producer and lead the new vocal cast. Cube Vision is producing "Hip Hop Squares", a take on the classic game show "Hollywood Squares", for MTV sibling VH1. The show originally ran from 1998 through 2002.

MTV Studios is aiming to have Celebrity Deathmatch on a third party network in 2019 as Viacom attempts to monetize its back catalog. In April 2015, MTV2 announced a reboot of the series, but the pilot ultimately was not picked up to series.
