Nokia 8.1 With Pure Display Screen & Snapdragon 710 SoC Launched Check Prices Features Variants & Specifications

The Nokia 8.1 will be available in Blue/Silver, Steel/Copper, and Iron/Steel when it launches in mid-December. Earlier last week, HMD Global launched Nokia 7.1 which was an updated version of Nokia 6.1 Plus. The new Nokia 7.1 is yet another example and is now available for pre-order online.

HMD has gotten some help from Zeiss on the cameras on the Nokia 8.1. Nokia 5.1 Plus features a pure design with 2.5D curved front and rear glass, complemented by curved edges and a high-gloss finish.

By shipping with Android Oreo™ out of the box, you'll be able to enjoy the latest features, including Google Lens, picture-in-picture for multitasking, Google Play Instant to discover and run apps with minimal friction, and battery-saving features like limiting background app use.

Since the phone is only just venturing out to the West, allow us a quick introduction. It will be interesting to see which variants comes to India next week. For the unaware, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 is the latest upper mid-range chipset and the first one to be built on top of the 10nm manufacturing process. The dual-camera module features OIS, EIS, and dual LED flash. "Specifically, the 12MP sensor measures in at 1.4µm with an aperture of 1/2.55". The camera app also comes with AI scene recognition modes baked into it. This means that the phone will receive software and security updates much faster than other non-Android One devices.

The Nokia 8.1 does indeed contain a 3.5mm headphone jack. It comes in three color models Red, Silver and Blue. As of right now, there are no plans to launch the phone in the USA, but that could change.

Prolific would be one description I give to HMD's Nokia device strategy, with the company keeping a steady pace of Android One powered goodness flowing onto the market at various price points. Of course, we have the Poco F1 with Snapdragon 845 SoC at a starting price of Rs 20,999, but the Nokia 8.1 features superior camera hardware and way better design.
