Spain battered Croatia 6-0 in their first Nations League encounter in September, but the World Cup finalists exacted revenge by beating their Iberian rivals in a thriller in Zagreb on Thursday night thanks to a late victor from Tin Jedvaj.

After an incident-free first half the game came to life in the second, with all five goals of the 3-2 victory coming after the break.

Although it is hard to determine exactly what Lovren says, the presence of an elbow-throwing motion and incessant chattering only point to one man.

"Haha! 3-2! Go ahead and talk now buddy". Buddy! They are a bunch of p******'.

He then covered the Spain flag stitched onto his shirt and said "only this side is worthy", pointing to the Croatian flag.

Lovren's instagram tirade comes two weeks after an interview with Copa90, in which he criticized the Real Madrid captain for making more mistakes than he did.

Lovren may even have been attempting to twist the knife further by posing with Ramos' Real Madrid teammate Luka Modric.

'He has many more mistakes than me but he's at Real Madrid, ' said Lovren earlier this month.

However, Ramos has not taken the bait by hitting back at Lovren.

The Liverpool centre-back recently hinted that Ramos was overrated, claiming, "when he makes a mistake, he wins 5-1 or 5-2 and nobody cares".

When asked to respond to Lovren's comments in a pre-match conference, Ramos decided not to add fuel to fire, saying: "I do not know if those things are said out of frustration or for other reasons".

He said: 'I'm not going to answer Lovren or whoever wants to win three front pages or start the news bulletin.

A win for either England or Croatia will see them finish top and qualify for the semi finals, while a loss for either will see them relegated to League B.
