Pregnant Amy Schumer hospitalized with severe morning sickness during second trimester

Amy Schumer said today that she has been hospitalized because of a pregnancy complication and postponed a pair of stand-up dates in Texas. I'm in the hospital.

Amy posted her apologies on Instagram but reassured her fans that she's being well taken care of and her baby is doing "fine". I am fine. Baby's fine but everybody who says the second trimester is better isn't telling the full story. She added, "I've been even more ill this trimester".

'I have hyperemesis, and it really blows.

"Very lucky to be pregnant but this is some bullshit!" They are cool as hell! And Texas I'm really really sorry, and I will be there as soon as I am better, ' Schumer wrote.

Amy Schumer has revealed is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum - the same condition the Duchess of Cambridge suffered from during her pregnancies.

However, that didn't stop the star from cracking jokes about expecting a new member of the family.

Earlier this month, Schumer complained that pregnancy has been hard, saying during a show, "I don't like it".

She quipped: 'You know who it's not fun to be pregnant at the same time as? But in a cruel twist of fate, Schumer turns out to be following more closely in the footsteps of Markle's sister-in-law Kate Middleton, who also famously suffered from hyperemesis, or, more specifically, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG).

Unlike morning sickness, which affects up to 80 percent of pregnant women, HG causes severe dehydration and prevents sufferers from keeping any food down. The condition may "require hospitalization and treatment with intravenous (IV) fluids, medications and rarely a feeding tube".
