Barcelona: Lionel Messi should only be used as a substitute against internazionale

After enduring what you might politely describe as a "torrid" start to his Barcelona career, summer signing Malcom finally notched his first goal for the club in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw against Inter Milan - his Champions League debut.

"It was a decision shared by the team", Valverde said, per the Daily Mail. "He's not getting the minutes he wants but in training he's working really hard".

However, in football, you never know.

"It's not fair that he's judged on one game in the cup because he had hardly played all season before that", Busquets told reporters.

Messi still travelled for the game to show his support for his teammates.

Messi would have arrived back in Barcelona during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

However, Messi chose to train alone at Ciutat Esportiva in a bid to be fully fit for their match against Betis.

Perhaps it will depend on how much Barca need him and, in that respect, messi's absence has been less pronounced than many predicted 15 days ago when he tumbled and broke his right arm against Sevilla.

Ousmane Dembele should start the match on the right-wing after his crucial goal against Rayo Vallecano even if his overall performance wasn't up to standard because he needs consistent opportunities to bring the best out of him.

Spalletti said: 'If it's Barcelona, they will have to pay €100m and if I am them I would pay a €20m tip on top.

"Any fall could provoke a serious problem that might have important consequences". The quality of the opposition doesn't seem to faze the 21-year-old and this is a kind of game where he could thrive due to the space available if Inter opt to take risks and play high up the pitch.

"If I were Barca, I'd offer €120m [£104.5m] and I'd say, '€20m is tip'".
