Starting today, Apple Music subscribers can log into Genius and play any song of their choosing straight from the song page.

Apple Music subscribers will now be able to get a little more bang for their buck thanks to an intriguing new partnership with the lyric database site Genius. Today, Apple has expanded the source of its lyrics database for the music service as part of a new partnership with Genius.

Lyrics startup Genius has entered a partnership with Apple that will bring an Apple Music web player to Genius.com, letting subscribers of the music service access full-length versions on the site. Previously, if you needed to prove someone wrong by looking up a quick lyric, you'd need to exit the Apple Music app or minimize it and make the move to a browser.

Online crowd-sourced musical encyclopedia Genius has selected Apple Music as its official music player. For now, that means we won't be able to tell whether the lyrics for a given song on Apple Music come from Genius or not, but there may be updates on this in the future, so stay tuned!

The Apple Music player is now available on Genius.com (desktop and iOS mobile web) and in the Genius iOS app.
