Selena Gomez Is Reportedly Receiving Psychiatric Treatment Following A'Breakdown

Fans around the world have poured onto social media to pray for USA singer Selena Gomez amidst reports that she was booked into a mental health facility after suffering a breakdown.

According to TMZ, Selena is at a mental health facility for treatment after an alarmingly low white blood count after her kidney transplant made her "despondent and emotional".

Gomez "has dealt with depression for a while", "Entertainment Tonight" reported, citing an unnamed source. "She's doing better now and is seeking treatment on the East Coast", a source told PEOPLE.

Justin Bieber's ex-girlfriend was reportedly released from a local Los Angeles hospital, but was readmitted days later because her blood cell count remained low, sending her into an emotional crisis. She's gone through it before, so it's not a completely new experience for the actor and singer.

She has been to rehab twice: once in 2014, and a second time two years later.

She is now receiving dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which helps with mental health disorders. Meanwhile, her other recent ex, The Weeknd, confirmed his back-on relationship with model Bella Hadid earlier this week on Instagram.

"As much as I am grateful for the voice that social media gives each of us, I am equally grateful to be able to step back and live my life present to the moment I have been given."

Soon after this news broke, Selena's fans started sending out wishes for her speedy recovery.

The 26-year-old singer, who suffers from lupus, underwent a kidney transplant in 2017. She wrote: "Just remember- negative comments can hurt anybody's feelings".
