That brings us to the PGA Tour video in which Johnson told Koepka he had won Tour Player of the Year.

The new PGA Tour season is already underway, but there's one last piece of business from the 2017-18 season: naming the Player of the Year.

Brooks Koepka, the 2018 US Open champion. He won the PGA Championship at Bellerive by two shots over Tiger Woods to become the fifth player to win the U.S. Open and PGA Championship in the same year. It's all particularly impressive given Koepka missed almost three months of action, including the 2018 Masters, while recovering from a wrist injury.

Koepka's award was official on Tuesday, but all but clinched when he won his second major of the year in the PGA Championship.

The 28-year-old Koepka claimed the Player of the Year honors over Italy's Francesco Molinari, Englishman Justin Rose and fellow Americans Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas and Bryson DeChambeau in a vote of his peers. "These feats were accomplished despite missing significant time due to injury, a testament to his work ethic and perseverance throughout the season".

Koepka is the fifth player to win the U.S. Open and PGA Championship in the same season.

PGA Tour members who played in at least 15 FedEx Cup events during the 2017-18 season were eligible to vote.
