‘Ozark’ Renewed for Season 3 at Netflix

Ozark Season 2

Ozark Season 2

The Jason Bateman-led "Ozark" has been renewed for a third season, the streaming service announced this morning. Season 1 was the sleeper hit of summer 2017, and though Season 2 was not as warmly received when it premiered in August, it's still beloved by many, including LeBron James. While it has yet to bank a win, heavily-nominated shows like Ozark tend to be groomed for future wins.

It follows Bateman's Marty Byrde, a money launderer for a Mexican drug cartel, who is forced to relocate himself and his family from the suburbs of Chicago to the Ozark mountains of Missouri, where he must launder $500 million in five years in order to appease his cartel bosses.

Season 2 upped the antagonistic ante with the introduction of the syndicate's shark of an attorney in Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), who utilizes the arena of the law in the continuing battle with the Byrdes. It's expected that the season will be released sometime in 2019.

As it stands, no air-date has been confirmed for Season 3 just yet.
