Pictures of the upcoming OnePlus smartphone recently appeared on Chinese social media website Weibo that also suggest the device could feature a tiny waterdrop notch. "We're adding more technology, improving battery life and reducing as much friction as possible by including an adapter and launching a new version of the Bullets V2", he said.

We found 59% of our community already owned wireless headphones earlier this year - and that was before we launched our Bullets Wireless headphones.

According to OnePlus, the decision to remove the jack comes after researching the market trends and seeing a shift in the way consumers use headphones these days.

Well until then, OnePlus plans to keep us distracted with something else. OnePlus believes that this move will prove to be beneficial for a "majority" of its users while keeping the disadvantages at check.

Removing the headphone jack frees up space inside the phone's body for other things, such as a larger battery.

So, moving forward you'll have to use either wireless headphones with the OnePlus 6T, or use a USB-C pair.

Dubbed simply the "Type-C Bullets", the earbuds will be priced the same as the existing Bullets V2 at $19.99USD.

OnePlus is expected to unveil the new Bullets along with the OnePlus 6T, which is rumored to boast an on-screen fingerprint scanner. We knew this was an option for a very long time, we were just waiting for the right time. So, it is the 6T that will be the first OnePlus flagship without a headphone jack.

OnePlus 6T is expected to launch in India on the same day or the next day of the worldwide launch.

In the past few years, several flagship smartphones have ditched the 3.5mm headphone socket in favour of transmitting audio through their charging port.

Basically, the new Type-C Bullets are an upgraded variant of the regular OnePlus Bullets and have been claimed to deliver a crisp and powerful sound, thanks to the new improvements and changes which have been done on the new Type-C Bullets. Since OnePlus includes features that are tested and accepted well by the users, it had to wait for OnePlus 6T to include the in-display fingerprint scanner that would allow users to have a great unlocking experience similar to the face unlock on OnePlus 6. OnePlus is expected to announce the 6T next month so be sure to stay tuned for more information.
