Maurizio Sarri has held talks with John Terry over a return "home" to Chelsea as part of his coaching staff.

"There was no particular desire to go somewhere after the World Cup", Kante told RMC Sport.

"I'd expect the Welsh side to be very competitive, but Chelsea will have too much for them". There was some contact with PSG, yes.

"A lot of people they say a lot of things in the press, but I never said that I want to leave Chelsea, never".

"I am with Chelsea - staying with Chelsea is good for me".

"It's up to him", Sarri told a news conference ahead of Saturday's home game against Cardiff City.

'The two teams to watch this year are Manchester City and Liverpool, ' he added.

Chelsea FC are aiming to at the very least break back into the top four this season after the Blues ended up in fifth place last term under Antonio Conte.

"I remember in my first season in Naples, the average points per match during the season was 2.28, I think", he said.

The 37-year-old is reported to want to continue playing but Sarri said he would welcome Terry back at Stamford Bridge if he chose to pursue a coaching career.

Surmising that the decision is Terry's alone tonight, Sarri highlighted his own awareness of what the Chelsea defender of nearly two decades means to the club, and how happy he would be to welcome him 'home'. If he wants to help us I am happy [for him to do so].

Chelsea have won each of their opening four Premier League games to a season for the sixth time (also 2004-05, 2005-06, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2014-15), at least twice more than any other side in the competition's history. "If he wants to play for another season, I think it's right he tries to play".

"I think in the coaching staff, I think".

"My feeling is that now we are not a very solid team in the defensive phase".
