The Voice returns for its 15th season September 24.

He'll be joined by returning judges Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton, and host Carson Daly.

That's right, John Legend is joining the upcoming 16th season of the reality TV competition series. He replaces Jennifer Hudson, who serves as coach on Season 15, which premieres September 24. "His multi-dimensional career and incredible talents provide a repertoire that will excite and inspire our artists".

"I'm thrilled to join the coaches of 'The Voice, '" Legend said of the announcement. "I hope the world is ready for #TeamJL".

The newly-minted EGOT victor will join the panel for Season 16, effectively replacing Jennifer Hudson as a coach.

The news comes just a few days after Legend became an EGOT victor.

Just last weekend, the "All of Me" singer won a 2018 Emmy for producing Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert. News at GOOD + Foundation's "An Evening of Comedy + Music" Benefit presented by Samsung Electronics America.

"It's kind of surreal", he gushed. "I probably wanted to win some GRAMMYs and sell a lot of records, and all that started happening pretty quickly, but I never dreamed that I would be here, winning an Emmy, and being in that rare group of people that have won all four of these major [awards]".
