Tony-winning set designer Derek McLane was also nominated for his design of the 90th annual Oscars, his fifth consecutive nomination for the awards show.

After it was revealed that John Legend is up for two Emmy Awards this year, it means that not only has he received Grammies, Oscars, and Tony wins, but he'll be that much closer to achieving an EGOT.

Since Legend has already won a Grammy, Oscar, and Tony over the course of his career, if he nabs the Emmy award on September 17, he will join the coveted group of, ahem, legends (there are only 12 in total!) who have already scored wins at all four of the award ceremonies including the likes of Rita Moreno, Whoopi Goldberg, Audrey Hepburn, and Mel Brooks.

NBC's live telling of Andrew Lloyd Webber's stage musical Jesus Christ Superstar was nominated in 12 other categories - brining its total to 13 nominations - including Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series for Brandon Victor Dixon as Judas, Outstanding Production Design, and Outstanding Casting for a special. "I couldn't be more proud of what we all did together and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to do this".

"It would be cool if this was the one that put them over the top for the EGOT".

John Legend is already living his best life, and on Thursday it got even better.

"13 nominations for Jesus Christ Superstar this morning!" she wrote. "But it's ok I AM SO PROUD!"

Only a handful of stars have joined the exclusive EGOT club with notable winners including Audrey Hepburn, James Earl Jones, Barbra Streisand, Rita Moreno, Liza Minnelli and Quincy Jones. As for if he's competing with his wife, Chrissy Teigen, who may win a Spike TV award, John said they've "got a big house", so they've got plenty of room for awards.
