The Ivory Coast international's arrival can be considered a huge coup for the newly-promoted Cottagers given he nearly joined Barcelona last summer - and was a target for Chelsea this time around.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain were all reportedly keen on the diminutive playmaker, who's style of play often brought comparisons to Blaugrana legend Xavi Hernandez.

"I'm very happy to sign for Fulham, this is a big club that's very popular", he told Fulham's official website.

Newly promoted Fulham completed the signing of midfielder Jean Michael Seri from Nice on Thursday, with the Ivory Coast global penning a four-year deal at Craven Cottage.

"I'm ready to get started and looking forward to meeting the squad and getting to know them, the head coach and his staff better".

The midfielder joins the Cottagers in a deal worth around £25 million according to reports, with Fulham owner Shahid Kahn announcing the deal on twitter today. "It's a new adventure that starts for me, and I'm hoping it will all go well".

He said: "I'm very happy to sign for Fulham".

Seri, 26, joined Nice from Portuguese side Pacos de Ferreira in 2015 and helped the Ligue 1 club mount a surprise title challenge in his second campaign.

Ivory Coast star Jean Michael Seri has completed a shock move to the Premier League despite being courted by some of Europe's elite clubs over the past 12 months.
