English bulldog Zsa Zsa dies just weeks after being named World's Ugliest Dog
Zsa Zsa, the Minnesota canine who recently won the "World's Ugliest Dog Contest" has passed away.
On a Facebook page for Zsa Zsa, owner Megan Brainard confirmed the dog died in her sleep. Zsa Zsa, the recent victor of the World's Ugliest Dog contest, has died at the age of 9. She bested 13 other dogs to claim the top spot. The dog was previously rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri when she was five years old, according to the Star Tribune.
"She's been staying over at my dad's house", owner Megan Brainard told TODAY.
The world's ugliest dog, Zsa Zsa, has passed away, Today reports.
English bulldogs typically live for about 9 years - so Zsa Zsa had a pretty good run.
The brown marbled bulldog named after Zsa Zsa Gabor won over judges at the famous Sonoma-Marin Fair competition with her pronounced underbite, a swaggering tongue that was usually seen lolling several inches out the right side of her mouth and signature pink nail polish.
Despite her appearance, she thought she was a star and was named after the Hungarian actress Zsa Zsa Gabor because, according to her owner, she would lie around 'like a attractive model'.
"I'm still in shock", she said. "It was sweet. She was waving at her", Brainard shared with TODAY. She said her family held a small memorial for the pooch, known to love Slim Jims and burritos from the Mexican fast-food chain Chipotle.
