It's worth noting we don't now have any word on whether the Vivo Nex will be coming to other countries around the world. Both the devices have a 12MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash (Sony IMX363 sensor and 4-axis OIS) f/1.8 aperture. Powered by the latest Snapdragon 845 SoC, the device features 8GB RAM and two storage variants of 128GB and 256GB. Some of the Nex S's most noteworthy features - like its in-display fingerprint sensor - will surely make their way to more widely-available phones in due time. While both the variants come with the same design, only the flagship edition comes with pop-up selfie camera and in-display fingerprint scanner. There's also the Vivo APEX FullView but it's only a concept Android phone.

The key highlight of the Vivo NEX is that this smartphone houses its front camera of 8-megapixel in a retractable setup.

The Vivo Nex also comes with in-display fingerprint reading abilities, which is hardly surprising considering that Vivo released the first phone with a sensor built into the screen only a few months ago.

Like other manufacturers, Vivo has developed an AI assistant which they've called Jovi. In any case, it should be an improvement over the company's previous devices which sported in-display fingerprint scanners.

In the meantime, what are your thoughts on the Vivo NEX? For one, the 8MP f/2.0 front camera is placed onto an elevating mechanism that pops up when needed; sounds reverbates through the screen itself thanks to Vivo's so-called Screen SoundCasting Technology, which is most probably utilizing a piezoelectric technology at its core, similarly to what Xiaomi did with the first Mi Mix but later backtracked.

The Vivo NEX is powered by 4,000mAh battery that is enabled with support for 22.5W fast charging through USB-C.

Vivo announced that the NEX will be available in China, but the company did not say when or how much will it cost.

But what about the front-facing camera, proximity sensors, and earpiece? Jovi can be used to launch apps, operate as per voice commands and perform other standard smart assistant tasks.

The Vivo NEX has been on the headlines since it was teased at MWC earlier this year. It aims to provide an immersive gaming experience based on software and hardware optimization and is also optimised to run games made using Unreal Engine.

Based on the launch, the Vivo NEX that is equipped with the Snapdragon 710 chipset will be priced at RMB3839 (~RM2394) while the Vivo NEX equipped with the Snapdragon 845 will be priced at RMB4498 (~RM2805) and RMB4998 (~RM3117) for the 128GB variant and 256GB variant respectively. 52,775). The pre-orders of these phones will begin in China from June 13 and their shipments will start on June 23.
