Millie Bobby Brown Quits Twitter After Being Turned Into A Homophobic Meme

Millie Bobby Brown is done putting up with the hate against her.

According to Variety, the 14-year-old actress - who is perhaps best known for starring as Eleven in Netflix's Stranger Things - left Twitter after online bullies turned her into a homophobic meme. The hashtag had first appeared last November and has since resurfaced this month for Pride.

Until the recent deactivation, the teenage actress was active on the social media platform, frequently posting about the events of her day, political statements, and photos of her relationship with YouTuber and musician Jacob Sartorius. While numerous tweets directed at the actress have since been deleted, the tweets were said to have tried to label Brown as a violent homophobe by adding homophobic statements and slurs to her photos.

It remains unclear why Twitter users have opted to turn the actress into a homophobic meme. Because of the despicable content of the memes, we will not be showing any of them in this post, though some on Twitter have said they originated as a "joke".

TooFab has reached out to Brown's reps for comment, but has yet to hear back.
