If you were watching Sunday night's Tony Awards on CBS, you might not have heard what Robert De Niro said to receive a standing ovation from the crowd at Radio City Music Hall. However, all three awards "Frozen" was nominated for went to "The Band's Visit".

It lost the Best Musical award to The Band's Visit, which swept most of the major categories at the 2018 Tony Awards, winning that top trophy and nine others.

"Bruce, you can rock the house like nobody else", he said. Many in the audience stood and cheered, while TV censors quickly bleeped out the offending words.

De Niro continued the streak for a third month in a row when he said in a speech in LA: 'A college education is important, but education without humanity is ignorance.

Jackson, 82, returning to Broadway after 30 years and a lengthy term as a British politician, was named best actress for her tour-de-force performance in Edward Albee's "Three Tall Women".

Ari'el Stachel, the California-born son of an Israeli-Yemeni father and an Ashkenazi mother from NY, won the award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance as a romantic Egyptian trumpeter in "The Band's Visit". A year after Kevin Spacey hosted the Tony Awards - and more than half a year since he was accused of sexual misconduct - co-hosts Sara Bareilles and Josh Groban put an ultra-palatable face on the show, beginning with a self-ribbing ditty about how most nominees don't win.
