Melania Trump's office denied a report the first lady has been out of the public eye because she is caring for her ailing mother Amalija Knavs

Her first clue that she would be a different first lady came when she made a decision to continue living at Trump Tower after her husband took office in January 2017, citing a desire to maintain stability for her son's schooling.

The first lady, who has been absent from public view for 22 days as of June 1, during which she underwent a successful kidney procedure, has always been rumored to be unhappy in the White House.

While the first lady is known for being private, Sunday marks the 24th day she has not been seen in public.

Melania Trump won't be accompanying President Trump on his two upcoming foreign trips, the first lady's spokeswoman told ABC News Sunday. She hasn't been seen since and also there has been a lot of Sherlock Holmes-like speculation over her tweets informing about her good health.

The First Lady hasn't been seen in public since before a surgery on May 14 that doctors say usually requires no more than one night in the hospital.

"Hillary Clinton thought she was going to win, and Donald Trump thought he was going to lose", Boehner said.

Then, on May 30 an update popped up on the First Lady's Twitter account. "She's holed up with the Obamas, working on a tell-all book about her husband - unless she had a secret nip and tuck, in which case she's just healing".

President Donald Trump boarded the presidential helicopter on the South Lawn of the White House in the afternoon with his daughters Ivanka and Tiffany, his oldest son Donald Jr., and his son-in, law Jared Kushner.

In a tweet, she revealed how she was doing and reiterated that she was still "working hard".

People were quick to pick up on her use of "working overtime".

The absence of the intensely private first lady has prompted widespread speculation and conspiracy theories. She participated in public appearances with the spouses of other G7 leaders, including a formal dinner and taking in a performance by La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra at the Ancient Theatre of Taormina. She has, however, posted on social media multiple times since the procedure. Her absence from public events raised quite a few concerns in the minds of Americans.
