The 2018 Council of Fashion Designers of America awards took place last night, bringing forward some of Hollywood's best dressed and most influential fashion icons. The ceremony hosted by American actress Issa Rae-the first women of colour to host the event-saw notable Americans within the fashion industry recognised for their work.
"I'm about as fashionable as Kanye is black".
"It was maybe seven years ago when I had a publicist and she asked, what were my goals, what were my dreams, and I said I just wanted to be on the cover of a fashion magazine", she explained.
Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are opening up about having problems in their marriage. "Only when it's convenient", Rae joked.

Also gracing the podium tonight is iconic designer Carolina Herrera who will receive the Founder's Award, and British Vogue's editor-in-chief, Edward Enniful, who will receive the Media Award. "Told her she could leave me now, but she wouldn't leave". I let that drive me.
Actresses-turned-designers Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen won the Accessory Designer of the Year award for their under-the-radar brand of luxe.
