Is it country/pop hybrid Gabby Barrett, singer-songwriter Maddie Poppe or country singer Caleb Lee Hutchinson? She made her final performances Sunday night along with the other two finalists, Caleb Hutchinson and Gabby Barrett. So, which one of them is the 2018 victor of American Idol? They love you!" Pointing to the judges he added: "And they love you. Even knowing how hard this week was, Katy Perry still wasn't impressed. "I see you've got your own fan-handler now", Katy Perry said mischievously.

Judge Luke Bryan agreed Caleb looked tight and stiff onstage and needed to be more relaxed and fun loving. While it was a good song, it was arguably the easiest single to sing among the three. Lionel said great song selection is important but will come with time and experience.

Luke said it was "a solid performance", and Lionel agreed she did "a fabulous job".

But who won? After the two-hour special, Maddie was named the victor!

Maddie also has some experience in the music industry, having already released an album of original material, Songs From The Basement, in 2016. Each of the contestants took the stage for performances as well. Hutchinson sang "Don't Close Your Eyes" by Keith Whitley, which allowed him to give a more heartfelt and romantic performance than usual.

The next performer was Gabby, who opted for Miranda Lambert's "Little Red Wagon". Her energy was the complete opposite of where it was after her first performance.

Maddie was up next with her original song, "Don't Ever Let Your Children Grow Up". The single allowed her to not only showcase her singing abilities, but her songwriting as well.

She wins a recording contract and a $250,000 cash prize.

"The first round I thought was a disaster and the second, I think they got their confidence back". "Make smart choices and know that your voice matters and speak up if you feel uncomfortable, speak up if it doesn't resonate with you". Katy Perry said he should do the critique. She finished off the finale by performing her "coronation" song "Going Going Gone".

Caleb got right on in his country wheelhouse when he chose Johnny Cash's classic "Folsom Prison Blues" as his hometown dedication song, and he had the crowd on their feet. And, halfway through the performance, the legendary Patty Labelle joined in for the fun.

Gabby then performed "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey in honor of Pittsburgh, PA. Watching in excitement and with pride, the three judges rose from their chairs and cheered her on.

And Maddie took the stage with "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac as a tribute to Clarksville, IA.
