Brazil's Neymar 'scared' ahead of World Cup return from injury

With less than one month until the showpiece tournament commences in Russian Federation, the Paris Saint-Germain forward wants to prove his fitness in a bid to regain his form from earlier in the year. But it isn't his former club which is being touted as his possible destination. Now there have been multiple rumors surrounding Neymar's future at PSG claiming that Real Madrid will be the Brazilian's next destination.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi believes a Neymar move to Real Madrid would be a "huge blow" for the Catalans.

However, while nearly all of Neymar's former team-mates have voiced their opinions about a potential move to Real Madrid, Lionel Messi has finally had his say.

Though Barcelona won La Liga and the Copa del Rey this season, Madrid will go for their third straight Champions League trophy when they face Liverpool in the final on May 26. "And on a footballing level Madrid would be much stronger than they already are".

Neymar, who formed one third of the "MSN" trident alongside Messi and Luis Suarez at Barça until last summer, recently said that the thing he most misses from his time in Spain is the friendship with his two attacking teammates.

Marcelo told reporters: "The best come to Madrid and I would love to play with Neymar".

The striker said he feared he would miss the June 14-July 15 World Cup finals in Russian Federation in the immediate aftermath of suffering the injury. Every year I fight to win everything.

"I've started training with the ball, I've started shooting and passing and now it's just a case of improving", he added.

Messi sounds genuinely scared that Neymar will join Barcelona's fierce rivals, which isn't something you usually associate with the 30-year-old.

Messi's Argentina is part of Group D while Brazil has been drawn in Group E of the tournament.
