WWE Announces Ronda Rousey's Opponent For Money In The Bank PPV

Rousey Set For Major Match!

Rousey Set For Major Match!

After deliberating for a bit, and stating that she didn't believe she was ready for the match, Rousey accepted.

Jax made the challenge to Rousey at a WWE media appearance at Radio City Hall in NY, and it was accepted by the former UFC champion. Rousey losing at "Money in the Bank" would diminish much of the credibility the WWE has built up around her and seemingly remove her from the main-event picture for the time being.

The current Raw women's champion also said that she's never been in the ring with someone like Rousey, so she's alternated her workout regimen to accommodate the extra challenge that an experienced fighter like Rousey brings.

This match will mark Rousey's first title shot since joining the company earlier this year.

WWE has officially confirmed the match will take place at MITB.

According to WWE.com, Jax shockingly named Rousey as her next challenger at the NBCUniversal upfronts in New York City's Radio City Music Hall.

There's also the question of how ready Rousey is both in and out of the ring.

That was based on what has been unfolding on Monday Night RAW ever since the Superstar Shake-up, with many assuming that a potential heel turn for Natalya would lead to a singles feud between the pair as she arguably knows Rousey's skillset the most and could get the best out of her. However, if Rousey is set to win the title off Jax now, then all bets are off. Now we have a very unexpected match for the Raw Women's Title. While it's likely a Rousey win would result in her being present on almost every show, the similarities between Rousey and Lesnar may be too much for WWE fans to ignore.

It was at that event that Jax won the title, beating her former friend Alexa Bliss to raise the gold in New Orleans.
