Captain Marvel will finally join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain Marvel on March 8, 2019. Next, we'll have Ant-Man and the Wasp, which hits cinemas on August 3rd, while Captain Marvel comes out before Avengers 4.

Coming from Feige, that could easily mean a whole lot of nothing, but the truth is that the MCU is going to need to introduce a new era of heroes to the world in order for it to move forward.

Captain Marvel will see Academy Award victor Brie Larsen take on the role in Marvel's first female fronted movie, and looks set to follow on from the dramatic events at the close of the record-breaking Avengers: Infinity War, which is still in cinemas. He talked to BBC's Husam Asi, saying, "We're doing Captain Marvel right now".

Ms Marvel's Kamala Khan iteration is getting a live-action film, Marvel announced.

In a historic first for the multi-billion-dollar movie franchise, Marvel Studio has confirmed it will introduce a Muslim superhero to its screens, possibly as early as next year. "CAST @priyankachopra AS MS MARVEL" AND THANK ME LATER'. Ms Marvel's identity was switched to Khan in 2014, and was Marvel's first Muslim lead character. Ms Marvel, which is another character in the comic books - the Muslim hero who's inspired by Captain Marvel. Marvel's recent Avengers: Infinity War is now in theatres and has broken multiple box office records in India and around the world.

Ms Marvel's character was created by G. Willow Wilson and Ian Herring. Despite some fans already lobbying for Priyanka Chopra (who voices the character in a video game), many believe it's important that the role go to an actual muslim, Pakistani-American actor. The best we have is Karan Soni playing Dopinder in Deadpool (which is not even MCU).
