Chelsea want Mauricio Pochettino to replace Antonio Conte as manager

The worldwide player has suffered a number of injuries this season which have limited his first team appearances to just 21; Spurs' decent form without him has convinced manager Mauricio Pochettino to sanction selling him as a way to raise funds.

In his three previous seasons they finished second, third and fifth - a period of sustained improvement that has made Pochettino one of the most admired managers in the game.

Asked on Sunday about the comments made by Pochettino that Spurs need to "be fearless and take risks" in fortifying their squad this summer, Rose said that he hoped Daniel Levy, the chairman, would work with his manager to ensure the club were stronger after their third-place finish.

Pochettino is set to meet with chairman Daniel Levy for talks over his future.

Chelsea could be lining up an approach to replace manager Antonio Conte with Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino, according to Sky Sports.

It's been suggested that Pochettino would flourish at a club with a larger budget than Spurs' and he has previously been linked with moves to Manchester United and Real Madrid.

"I don't know if the club will agree with me or not, but we are going to talk next week to create what I think we need to do together again, to try to improve".

"We can not think we are the most clever people in the world and we are going to win trophies and spend small money".

Following Sunday's season-ending 5-4 Premier League win over Leicester at Wembley, the Argentine coach said Spurs must "take risks" to win top trophies.

Asked if he will be Tottenham manager at the start of next season, Pochettino added: "In football you never know. everything can change". We need to think our reality is different and our fans need to think and be happy and support us because we are not a club who will spend insane money.

He said, "For me, this is important, not speculation around me".
