The Houston Astros Take Shifting to the Level It Works Out

Houston Astros outfielder George Springer is day-to-day with a bruised left elbow after being hit by a 92 miles per hour pitch from Texas Rangers starter Cole Hamels in the fourth inning Friday night. X-rays came back negative with the team considering him day-to-day with the injury.

Springer remained on the ground for almost two minutes as Houston's medical staff attended to him. He was replaced in the field and the lineup by Jake Marisnick. General manager Jeff Luhnow said Saturday that he expected Springer to return to the starting nine at some point during the three-game series with the Angels that begins Monday, and Hinch's comments seemingly support that sentiment. "I believe if my arm is attached, I can still play".

Springer is slashing.296/.363/.506 with 8 homers and 26 RBI in 182 plate appearances this season.
