Smriti Irani'stalking case Four booked for stalking intent to insult modesty of woman

Four students of the Delhi University have been booked by the police for misbehaving and stalking Union Minister Smriti Irani.

The incident is said to have taken place a year ago when Smriti Irani was on her way back home to Chanakyapuri from Delhi IGI Airport.

The Delhi Police have filed a chargesheet against four people for allegedly stalking Union Minister Smriti Irani previous year while she was returning to her residence in Chanakyapuri in the national capital from the Indira Gandhi International Airport.

According to Police report, All the four students - Anand Sharma, Avinash, Shitanshu, and Kunal - are in the age group of 20-25 and were drunk and returning from a birthday party. They were later arrested for allegedly stalking and outraging the modesty of a woman and released on bail.

The Union minister's auto was chased by four Delhi students.

In an interview with ANI, one of the accused apologised to Irani for "violating the law". We were making a video for Instagram and the music in the auto was loud. "We apologized to her on the spot", ANI had quoted one of the students as saying. "We would have not done this if we knew that it was Smriti Irani's vehicle", reported ANI. "I just want to ensure that our lives do not get ruined", the student had added.
