OnePlus Pushes Stable Android 8.1 Update to 5 and 5T, Stable Navigation Gestures Too

In case you missed Daniel's hands-on from earlier this year, OnePlus's gesture system is actually pretty great.

OnePlus has confirmed that it is starting the incremental software rollout of OxygenOS 5.1.0, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Of all the changes listed by OnePlus, only one is exclusive to the OnePlus 5T.

That's the full-screen gesture support, which allows users to hide the navigation bar completely and, instead, use different gestures to go to the main homescreen, open the recents menu and go back.

Last but not least, Gaming Mode is also being updated with power saving and pausing adaptive brightness features, as well as a network boost that'll prioritize your data/Wi-Fi connection for the game that you're now playing.

The update, as you would expect, is rolling out in stages.

For those on the OnePlus stable track, the update will roll out incrementally over the coming days, so don't be surprised if you don't see it right away.

That's not all this latest firmware update for the OnePlus 5T brings.
