Kieran Tierney has all the tools required to become a successful star at Manchester United, according to former Celtic star and BT Sports pundit Chris Sutton.

While the Red Devils would have to splash the cash on Tierney, with Pearce out of contract this summer, Brendan Rodgers could land the full-back on a free transfer and offer the novice an opportunity to play Champions League football.

When asked about his plans for the summer, Tierney told the Times: "I'm not thinking about anyone other than Celtic just now".

"I'm enjoying my career here; I've just signed a six-year deal, so if that doesn't say long-term, I don't know what does".

"One thing that stands out straight away with Kieran Tierney is his personality", Sutton said.

"He's level-headed, hard-working and very likeable".

Manchester United could still win a trophy this season - and they take on Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup semi-finals next weekend.

'He really caught the eye in Europe last season and, amazingly, only Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio has played more minutes in any top division across the world this season.

'He can improve. His final ball could be better and his attacking contribution is not as outstanding as it was last season.

'That said, he is a top young talent with the mentality to make those improvements and United would be lucky to have him'.
