Patriots linebacker James Harrison
James Harrison is retiring for the second time. He then finished his career by playing in the Super Bowl with the New England Patriots.
The veteran linebacker announced his retirement Monday morning via social media, posting a photo collage of his two children on Instagram and a caption that included the message, "I've missed way too much for way too long", and "I'm done". "I'm done. Many thanks to my family, coaches, the fans, and everyone who played a role in my football life".
New England, in desperate need of help along the edge, scooped up Harrison immediately.
Harrison played one season, 2013, with the Bengals and one game in 2017 with the Patriots after being released by Pittsburgh in late December.
The Pittsburgh Steelers' all-time sack leader has announced his retirement from the NFL.
He also was the 2008 AP Defensive Player of the Year in helping lead the Steelers to a Super Bowl victory.
