Tampa Bay is signing former Cardinals and Jets kicker Chandler Catanzaro, whose strong leg should help the Bucs on kickoffs - and hopefully field goals and extra points. He was allowed to hit the free-agent market after that season, and he won the Jets' job in training camp. Catanzaro spent last season in NY after starting his career in Arizona.

Pat Murray, who stepped in as the Bucs' kicker a year ago after struggles with veteran Nick Folk, is a free agent. Here is hoping for Catanzaro that his Buccaneers career ends up a lot more successful than that of Folk's, which ended abruptly after he missed multiple easy field goals last season. Catanzaro signed a free agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals after the 2014 National Football League draft. The 2016 season, however, was not as kind to him, as he only made 75 percent of his field goals.

Catanzaro, 27, went 25-for-30 on field goals for the Jets last season and was a flawless 29-for-29 on extra points.

Now, he is Tampa BayBay-bound, joining a team that has had a bad need at kicker for some time.
