On PS4, for example, players are able to enjoy free to play games and MMO's like Smite and Final Fantasy XIV without ever paying a dime for PlayStation Plus, which is Sony's direct answer to Xbox Live Gold.

Addressing the concerns of some players, who think that the mobile version of the Battle Royale shooter might not be as vibrant, the developers assured, "On phones and tablets, Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Mac". This mode will support cross-play and cross progression (meaning your character remains constant on all supported platforms) between iOS, PlayStation 4, PC and Mac, with Android support coming at a later date.

Though it appears that Sony is just forcing its aggressive business practices for the PS4 in its decision to prohibit Xbox One and PS4 cross-play since Microsoft, the owner of the Xbox One, actually is in favor of the aspect. Moreover, Epic Games reached a similar deal with Sony so owners of the mobile version could also play with PlayStation 4 copy owners.

Microsoft is saying they are open to allow the functionality, but Sony is failing to oblige.

In a follow-up statement sent to Kotaku, Microsoft firmly placed the ball in Sony's court, reiterating its desire to work with the company to make cross-play happen.

Sony's excuse at the time was that cross-play is, "exposing what in many cases are children to external influences we have no ability to manage or look after". With the feature enabled, friends won't be forced to buy the same consoles to compete against one another.

He isn't alone though, as over the last few weeks, dozens of other players have complained that their accounts have been compromised on Reddit and on Epic Games' forums.

Visuals seem to have taken something of a hit in the transition, which is something that's to be expected. That means not only were you just sniped from halfway across the map by a 10-year-old, that 10-year-old may be playing on an iPod touch on a school bus.
