While one would naturally assume that the new Vu 4K UHD TVs come as a direct competition to Xiaomi's Mi TV 4, Vu says it is largely targeting high-end brands like Sony and Sharp whose Smart 4K UHD TVs typically cross the Rs 1 lakh mark. The launch of the new Tvs assumes great importance since Xiaomi also launched three new Televisions recently with Patchwall UI, which is customized for the Indian environment.

The new Mi TV 4A series will be targeted towards lower segment and is also "more accessible", according to the Chinese company. It will be interesting to see how this intense battle between Xiaomi and Vu goes on.

Xiaomi Mi LED Smart TV 4A first sale in India will be held via Flipkart, and Mi Home Stores on March 13 at 12 PM.

With such top-notch features and cost-effective price-tag, Mi TV 4A series will be in high demand this flash sale.

Today Vu Televisions became the latest name to be added to the list. The company has priced its 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch Android 4K UHD TVs at Rs 36,999, Rs 46,999 and Rs 55,999, respectively. Keeping in mind the Indian context, the audio been optimised for India. Now they aren't very high-end but there's a reason for that, price.

Vu has ditched small screen sizes and debuted 43-inch, 49-inch and 55-inch televisions starting at Rs. 36999. True, that it is going to stay hidden, but it feels like cheap plastic. The main highlight of the Vu Android Smart TV is the integration of 4K resolution.

All three models are identical when it comes to design, features and hardware. The only difference is the screen size.

The Vu Official Android TV runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and has access Google Play Store, YouTube, Google Games, and the complete Google ecosystem. There is also a Voice Control Remote for increased convenience.

These models reportedly come with 8GB of internal storage and powered by an Amlogic quad-core SoC coupled with 1GB of RAM. On the connectivity front, the TVs offer two USB Type-A ports, 3 HDMI ports, Ethernet, WiFi and Bluetooth.

The 4K Smart TV sets feature two 10W speakers which supports DTS TruSurround and Dolby Digital.

We suggest waiting a bit before you invest in the Android TVs from Vu. We couldn't do an extensive test of the panel but it looked decent although the blacks didn't feel very deep.

This company stated that audio been optimized for India, in terms of loudness.
