However, some critics think that Yogi's face looks Photoshopped but the owner confirmed that her Shih-poo is "authentic and a ideal puppy".

Yogi is a Shih-poo ― a cross between a Shih Tzu and a poodle ― whose eyes and jaw make him appear very human-like, despite being very dog-like in every other way.

When Yogi's image spread to Twitter, it prompted comparisons to a whole host of celebrity lookalikes, from Oscar victor Jake Gyllenhaal to pop sensation Ed Sheeran. The user shared the pic with the following comment, "A friend of a friend posted a pic on Facebook of her dog. It looks like it has a man's face", according to Elite Daily. Chantal insisted that she had not manipulated the photo at all, but after examining the photo again, she understood why people were asking her that.

Yes, there is definitely no denying that this dog has more of a human face than most dogs.

And as well as his eyes, where the pupil is unusually prominent, followers were astounded by his human-like lips.

"The more I stare at the dog the more I'm seeing my own face....this is creeping me out... like looking into my soul weird", another person commented.

"But it's not just his eyes".

One person attempted to explain the reason behind his resemblance to a human, writing: 'Probably has a lot to do with close-cut hair around the eyes, especially the brow and snout. The argument about the Shih-poo actually having a human-like face is still open on social media.

"I laughed, then I got uncomfortable, now I'm rocking back and forth desperately trying to convince myself it's just a face swap", someone wrote.

It wasn't long before her friends started pointing out that his face looked uncannily human-like, and some even asked her if she used editing software like Photoshop or one of those popular "face swap" apps to create the eerie effect.

"I feel really sad for the pup, because he's probably really cute, but he's also horrifying". I feel like a brown-eyed, bearded man is trapped in there, ' one person joked, adding to the hundreds of comments on Reddit.

The photo of Yogi later spread to Twitter, prompting comparisons to a plethora of stars.

Here's Yogi side by side with his adopted sister, who, as you can see, just looks like a dog. It all started when Chantal Desjardins, from MA, posted a photo of her freshly groomed pooch Yogi, on Facebook.

'My friends were freaking out, the photos are not Photoshopped at all, ' she said.
