Emre Can has put all contract negotiations on hold until the end of the season and, as a result of that, Juventus are anxious.

Marotta has often publicly spoken about Can in recent weeks and months, but has now conceded that Juve aren't the only club looking to sign him when he becomes a free agent in summer.

"I think Liverpool have made him a better player and in Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff I think they are flawless for him".

However, there have been no breakthroughs with the Serie A giants and they are growing anxious they could lose out on their No 1 transfer target.

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has admitted that the reigning Italian champions face serious competition to land long-term target Emre Can from Liverpool, with fresh speculation once more linking Bayern Munich and Real Madrid with the German midfielder.

Can has established himself as a regular in Klopp's starting line-up at Liverpool and has even been named club captain three times this season.

Reds legend Steven Gerrard recently pleaded with the 24-year-old to reconsider leaving Merseyside.

"I think Liverpool have made him a better player and in Jurgen Klopp and his coaching staff I think they are flawless for him", Gerrard said last month.

"I think Liverpool-the club and the fans-have a lot of belief in him".
