The Space Foundation announced Vice President Mike Pence will speak at the 34th Space Symposim in Colorado Springs next month at the Broadmoor.

William Robert Dunbar, 23, of Berlin, pleaded guilty to the lone count in December.

Local police told the Johnstown Tribune-Democrat that Dunbar was on duty last fall at the Army National Guard Training Center, 90 miles from the memorial, when he said, "If someone pays me enough money, I will kill the vice president".

His sentence also includes six months of home detention and a requirement to receive mental health treatment.

The vice president eventually gave a keynote speech at the event. Witnesses said they contacted commanding officers after Dunbar make the threat twice.

U.S. Secret Service conducted the investigation that led to the successful prosecution.
