Colts Among Finalists to Sign Guard Andrew Norwell

A 10-step offseason blueprint to fix the Giants

A 10-step offseason blueprint to fix the Giants

For several weeks, many had thought that Andrew Norwell going to the New York Giants as a free agent would be a sure thing since some reports had it as a "done deal".

Norwell has narrowed his list of teams down to three: the San Francisco 49ers, Indianapolis Colts and Giants.

Meanwhile, the Giants, who have been long considered the front runners for Norwell, have about $20 million in cap room, according to Over The Cap. The Colts were among the worst units in pass protection and Norwell would help protect Andrew Luck in a big way.

Norwell was arguably the best pass protecting guard in the National Football League in 2017 and while the Carolina Panthers wanted him to return, they already had too much money tied up at other positions. In 2016, Norwell allowed just two sacks for the season.

The Giants had their sights set on Norwell to anchor an offensive line rebuild, but not must turn their attention elsewhere.

This is encouraging news for Colts to be in the sweepstakes for Norwell as they look to finally add protection for their franchise quarterback.
