It feels like yesterday since we got the Mercedes Benz C-Class but auto is already due for a midcycle update. Hence the modified model will show off with some unique styling modifications.

The most visible change, however, is in the instrument cluster which can now be specced as a fully digital 31.2cm screen with customisable Classic, Sport and Progressive background graphics. For example, Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC as part of the Driving Assistance package is able to support the driver in numerous situations on the basis of map information and predictively adjust the speed e.g. when approaching bends, junctions or roundabouts. For instance, the display controls and display features are from the S-Class. Each headlamp incorporates 84 individually controllable LEDs. Noticeably it also seems to be testing with other Mercedes models. The facelifted 2019 Mercedes-Benz C-Class will go on sale in the USA by late 2018. However, the system of voice control answers to the additional commands like the switching of heated seats on.

Like the rest of the new G range, the G63 combines the traditional looks and iconic details with luxury, technology and driver-assist systems from the S-Class. Hence with this facility, the vehicle can ride semi-automatically under specific conditions.

While it doesn't use LIDAR, a 3D-laser technology, it does pair radar and cameras that can keep an eye on what's happening around the vehicle - and as much as a third of a mile ahead. Other new developments include intuitively understandable Active Lane Change Assist and Active Emergency Stop Assist as new functions of Active Steering Assist.

All the raw madness is sent to the 4Matic system through a new nine-speed automatic transmission with a 40:60 rear-biased torque distribution.

Two new exclusive colour combinations are offered in the interior: Armagnac brown/black and savanna beige/black.

Merc claims that the resurrection of the Maybach brand as Mercedes-Maybach has been quite a success - since its launch in February, 2015, over 25,000 Maybach S-Class models have already been delivered worldwide. It will show off standard features like the latest alloy 17-inch wheels and LED lighting. They are Metallic Emerald Green and Mojave Silver Metallic.
